Heather Wright-Rager is an adventurer, entrepreneur, storyteller, and passionate advocate for embracing life's unexpected turns.
As the founder of Plot Twist Adventures, she has combined her lifelong love of the outdoors with a deeply personal mission: helping people discover that some of life's greatest adventures begin after everything goes differently than planned.
Heather spent more than 14 years owning a successful marketing agency before transitioning into freelance consulting and launching several purpose-driven businesses. Throughout her career, she has helped hundreds of organizations tell their stories, but the most meaningful story she has ever shared is her own.
After facing significant personal and health challenges that forced her to rebuild her life from the ground up, Heather discovered that healing often happens outside—around campfires, on hiking trails, beside mountain lakes, and in conversations shared under endless stars. Those experiences taught her resilience, confidence, and the courage to begin again.
In 2022, she founded Plot Twist Adventures to create more than just vacations. She created a community where people could step away from the stress of everyday life and reconnect with themselves through unforgettable outdoor experiences.
Today, Plot Twist Adventures specializes in custom, all-inclusive outdoor adventures throughout Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Florida. Every itinerary is thoughtfully designed around each group's interests, abilities, and goals, allowing guests to experience incredible destinations without the stress of planning the logistics.
Heather believes adventure should be accessible to everyone—not just experienced outdoor enthusiasts. Whether someone is sleeping in a tent for the first time, hiking their first mountain trail, paddling their first river, or simply rediscovering their confidence after a difficult season of life, every adventure becomes an opportunity for personal growth.
